Gareth brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role as the Head of Department for Physical Education at UIS KL. With a PGCEi from the University of Nottingham and a BA in International Music Industry Management, Gareth’s diverse background enriches his teaching philosophy. He believes in creating engaging, fun, and innovative learning experiences, utilising effective pedagogies like scaffolding to ensure students reach their full potential.


Before joining UIS KL, Gareth served as a P.E. and A-Level Psychology teacher in an international school in Malaysia and as a Humanities Teacher and Cricket Coach at a high school in England. His adaptability is evident in his seamless integration into diverse school cultures and age groups, contributing to a thriving and inclusive learning environment.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Gareth has competed at high levels in various disciplines, including swimming, basketball, and cricket. This passion, combined with his dedication to teaching, makes him a perfect fit for the P.E. department at UIS KL. Gareth’s multifaceted background, including his interest in music and extensive travel experiences, adds a unique dimension to his teaching, providing real-life insights into lessons, especially in subjects like Urban Challenges and World Economies.
