Steam Week: 27 th March 2023 to 31 st March

Water bottle rockets launched our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Week with a SPLASH, one of many competitions and activities held throughout this kinetically charged event. Students were also challenged to design and make paper aeroplanes in a competition, which had them considering aerodynamics, mass and acceleration. But that’s not all that was blowing our students’ minds. They also investigated other STEAM-related topics through various puzzles and activities including a maze quiz, that required computer programming skills and team work, as well as a STEAM themed poster competition. On the final day, an exhibition open to parents was held in the MPH that seamlessly blended the arts and sciences. Students displayed their creativity with henna and nail art, DIY mini ceramic painting, dance performances and even TED Talks on topics like electromagnetism and stem cell research. Individual and group projects for both primary and secondary students exploring solar power, slime and electric cars were also on display, demonstrating our students’ tremendous enthusiasm for STEAM topics. Thank you to the STEAM Team for putting together this massively successful event!
