UCSI International School has a counselling team that supports teachers in looking out for the wellbeing of our students. We want our students to get the most out of all the opportunities provided by the school. We take the time to ensure that all our students are known, valued and cared. Teachers and counsellors know and understand the specific needs of students and ensure that these needs are supported and met. Students’ progress and success are always celebrated.
We understand that as children grow up, they can face problems which are more easily solved if they can speak with someone in confidence. Teachers and counsellors are approachable, thus, the students do take the opportunity to share issues with them.
The range of support the school has:
- ESL classes that are tailored to support students in their language acquisition needs
- Subject teachers open extra classes for students who struggle in their subject
- Teachers schedule one on one sessions to support students and students are also able to approach their teachers
- Counsellors work with students on social-emotional, relationships and academic matters
The school understands that all students are different and learn differently.
Teachers help students set goals and encourage them to work out of their comfort zone. We believe in a partnership with parents to support the students. Regular communication with parents is important in this partnership.
