UCSI International School places the student at the centre of learning. We understand that each student is different and may learn differently. Therefore, we encourage students to be active and responsible for their learning. Our teachers focus on how students use their skills or content and become models. Students are encouraged to collaborate and interact with their teachers and peers. They are provided with individualised feedback that will allow them to reflect and evaluate.
Students have a voice in their learning and are allowed to question. They can demonstrate and share what they have learnt in decision making according to their understanding as well as how the final product will look like.
Student-centred learning is more personalised, engaging, competency-based and not restricted to the classroom. UCSI International School teachers understand that student-centred learning allows students to engage in their success. This can further incorporate their interests and skills into the learning process. Students engage with their teachers as well as develop skills and tools to gain knowledge. They are the focus, not the teacher.
