Personal and Social Development

UCSI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IS A SCHOOL LIKE NO OTHER. HERE, WE LEARN TO BE DIFFERENT.

Personal–social development (PSD) skills are abilities that children must develop to care for themselves and how to interact with others.

The ability to interact with others is very important in making friends and dealing with conflicts. At UCSI International School, we allocate time to work with students in this area. PSD classes support students in building resilience and nurtures mental and physical health. This class allows for reflection and discussions. Students will become more aware of their emotions that can assist with the advancement of concentration and focus. We explore attitudes and values in society, the sense of belonging, independence, emotional and social wellbeing as well as the ability to understand and regulate their feelings. They develop their social skills, emotional literacy and empathy.

Students will be equipped with tools and strategies that will help them to understand, cope and navigate life.  They will explore issues like mental health, being different, body image, bullying and internet safety. They explore the concept of rights and responsibilities and understand that attitudes are different throughout the world.  The hope is that the students can produce their attributes.

Opportunities are provided for students to develop leadership and responsibility.
