UCSI Awards Full Scholarship to Crystal Lee

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 JULY 2013 – UCSI International School presented a full scholarship award to Crystal Lee today in recognition of her achievements in the film industry.

The scholarship offers a full tuition fee waiver, taking care of the actress’ primary and secondary school education.

Crystal will study at UCSI International School Subang Jaya where studies are based on the British-based International Primary Curriculum and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

"I love acting and singing but education is very important too," enthused Crystal. "With UCSI’s support, I believe education will bring me a step higher in the industry."

"As my mentor Dennis Lau says – Knowledge is priceless."

It is worthy to note that Dennis Lau, an accomplished musician, is also an alumnus of UCSI University’s School of Music.

After making waves in the local film and music industry, Crystal burst onto the international scene and won rave reviews for her role in the movie Unbeatable that showcased how the human spirit can overcome the odds.

The movie swept a number of awards at the recent 16th Shanghai International Film Festival where Crystal bagged the coveted Best Actress award, setting history as the award's youngest recipient.

Crystal first made her international debut in 2012 when she starred alongside Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse in the blockbuster feature film, The Viral Factor.

She is currently managed by the internationally renowned violinist, Dennis Lau.

Highlighting Crystal's achievements, UCSI Group founder and chairman Dato' Peter Ng said that the scholarship would provide Crystal with flexibility and quality education.

"We are proud of Crystal's achievements and we hope that her talent will be nurtured and developed further at UCSI International School Subang Jaya as she studies alongside international students," he said after presenting Crystal with the scholarship award.

"At UCSI, we have a responsibility to the younger generation. We want to provide them with an education that will set them in good stead and ensure that they have a childhood worth remembering."

The event was held at UCSI University's Le Quadri VIP Lounge.

UCSI International School Subang is the second international school launched by the UCSI Group, a conglomerate with a 27-year track record of education excellence.
